Harold’s Cross ETSS has undergone inspections from the Department of Education. A copy of the findings and recommendations from the Inspectorate are published and can be found below.

Findings from the Department of Education Inspectors in relation to our school include:

• The quality of teaching and learning was good or very good in the lessons observed; assessment was very good with elements of excellent practice.

• All lessons were characterised by a positive classroom atmosphere where students’ curiosity and interest was promoted, and students were highly appreciative of the supportive learning environment.

• A key strength in all lessons observed was the effective integration of visual studies with practical work.

• Lessons were student-centred and active, with a very good balance between teacher instruction and student activity.

• The overall quality of subject provision and whole-school support was very good; uptake of the subject was very good.

• The overall quality of planning and preparation was very good.
