Learner centred and equality-based education in Harold’s Cross.
We are a voluntary secondary school under the sole patronage of Educate Together. Our inclusive and equality-based learning environment is second-to-none. We are committed to exceptional teaching and learning to empower our students to fulfil their maximum potential.
We want to develop kind, courageous and life-long learners who can succeed in school and in life. For us, this means we foster an inclusive atmosphere where diversity, resilience, kindness, creativity and self-directed learning are promoted and encouraged, where individualism and what brings us together are respected and celebrated equally. We do this by offering a balanced, democratic learning community where all voices are valued and academic achievement is encouraged.
Equality, diversity and inclusion together with innovation and technology will lie at the heart of learning in Harold’s Cross Educate Together Secondary School (HCETSS) where student voice and wellbeing are central to all that we do. We strive to foster a culture where every student can be who they want to be; a culture that enables every student, in their own way, to grow academically and socially to reach their true potential.
Our school provides an outstanding curriculum and learning environment that equips students with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the 21st century. Your child will be encouraged and supported to develop skills in critical thinking, communication, teamwork, research and leadership.
In HCETSS, we are all learners, and our highly qualified educators use the most up to date, research-informed, teaching and learning methodologies to ensure that learning is student-centred, active, challenging and enjoyable. In addition, we passionately believe that technology is a powerful tool that can be harnessed to support the learning process and engage all learners.
Welcome from our principal Pádraig Conaty
Thank you for dropping by our website which gives a great overview of our school community.
We opened in August 2020 on the site of the old Greyhound Stadium, Harold’s Cross. This is also the location of our permanent accommodation. We share the campus with Harold’s Cross Educate Together National School with whom we will move into the main site when the two new school buildings are constructed.
Our focus in HCETSS is on outstanding learning and teaching in an equality-based environment. I am proud to lead this school and to be able to commit to the kind of education which many parents in our local community want for their children.
